A desperate search continued today for the missing remains of alleged murder victim Julian Story in South Australia. Tamika Chesser, 34, has been charged with the alleged murder of her 39-year-old partner at the couple's home on the Flinders Highway in Port Lincoln on the state's Eyre Peninsula. Story's body was found without his head after police responded to a small fire in the yard of the house about 3.35pm on June 19.

Police and State Emergency Service (SES) crews searched the Port Lincoln coastline today for the missing remains. Chesser was arrested at the scene and was taken to a mental health facility, where she remains. Port Lincoln mayor Diana Mislov spoke on behalf of Story's family today, as the search entered its eighth day.

Mislov expressed the deep love Story had for his family and emphasized that he was a cherished individual who did not deserve such a fate. She highlighted the community's shock and grief over the alleged murder.

Chesser's family revealed that she had been struggling with her mental health and had recently been discharged from a mental health facility against their wishes. The local mayor stressed the need for more mental health support and long-term programs to assist individuals in need.
