New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD's Tejashwi Yadav led a protest in Bihar against the Election Commission's revision of the electoral roll ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The protest saw highways blocked, trains halted, and tyres burnt. The opposition accused the poll body of attempting to rig the elections, similar to what happened in Maharashtra. On the other hand, the BJP defended the exercise, stating that only Indian citizens should have the right to vote. The Election Commission clarified that the revision is a standard procedure before every election and aims to update the voter list as mandated by law.
