A POOL star sailed into the next round of the World Nineball Pool Championship with the help of an expert trick shot. The Philippines' Johann Chua thrashed Mohamed Al-Balkhi 9-0 in the first round.
Al-Balkhi attempted a trick shot by jumping the cue ball over the black to hit the one ball. The nine ball bounced out of the pocket, giving Chua a chance to win the frame. Chua seized the opportunity by sinking both the one ball and the nine ball, securing the lead and eventually winning the match 9-0.
Chua will face Oliver Szolnoki in the next round. British players Jayson Shaw and Chris Melling also advanced to the second round with victories over their opponents.
