Indian Navy's INS Tabar Rescues Crew from Fire-Hit Vessel Bound for Oman
Indian Naval ship INS Tabar responded to a distress call from the vessel MT Yi Cheng 6, carrying 14 Indian crew members, that caught fire en route from India to Oman. The Navy successfully controlled the fire and rescued the crew members.

INS Tabar, a naval ship deployed in the Gulf of Oman, responded to a distress call from the vessel MT Yi Cheng 6, carrying 14 crew members of Indian origin. The vessel encountered a major fire in the engine room and total power failure while en route from India's Kandla to Oman's Shinas. The Indian Navy promptly provided assistance and managed to control the fire onboard.
The fire fighting team and equipment from INS Tabar were transferred to the distressed vessel using the ship's boat and helicopter. Currently, 13 Indian naval personnel and 05 crew members of the tanker are engaged in firefighting operations, successfully reducing the intensity of the fire.
This incident highlights the Indian Navy's proactive approach in responding to maritime distress situations and providing timely assistance to vessels in need.
