House Speaker Martin Romualdez took his oath of office for his third and final term as congressman representing Leyte's first district. The ceremony took place in Tacloban City on June 29, with Romualdez being joined by his sons and other elected officials from the district.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez began his third and final term as congressman for Leyte's first district by taking his oath of office on June 29. The oath was administered by Court of Appeals Associate Justice Justice Bautista Corpin at the Price Mansion in Tacloban.
Speaker Romualdez was accompanied by his sons, Andrew Julian and Ferdinand Martin Jr. Andrew Julian also took his oath as congressman for the Tingog party-list group, while Ferdinand Martin Jr. was sworn in as a councilor for Tacloban City.
Raymund Romualdez, the Speaker's nephew, also took his oath as vice mayor of Tacloban City. Speaker Romualdez then administered oaths to local officials of Leyte's first congressional district.
Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, Speaker Romualdez's cousin, was not present at the ceremony. Speaker Romualdez previously served as congressman from 2007 to 2016, when his wife took over the position. He resumed his role as congressman in 2019.
In an interview, Speaker Romualdez expressed his commitment to bringing more projects and services to Leyte's first district, which includes Tacloban City and several towns.
