More foreign missions in the Philippines expressed concerns over the China Coast Guard's recent use of water cannon on Filipino vessels off Zambales, near Bajo de Masinloc. Australian Ambassador HK Yu emphasized the binding nature of the 2016 Arbitral Ruling and the need for peaceful resolution of disputes in the South China Sea. The New Zealand Embassy and the South Korean Embassy also echoed calls for peaceful resolution in accordance with international law.

The United States, European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada have issued statements urging respect for international law. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources deployed ships to assist Filipino fishermen near Scarborough Shoal, with two vessels being water cannoned by Chinese vessels within the Philippine exclusive economic zone.
