Left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya led Sri Lanka to a dominating win over Bangladesh in the second cricket test, securing a 1-0 victory in the series. Jayasuriya took his 12th five-wicket haul in test cricket as Bangladesh was all out for 133 in the second innings, falling short by an innings and 78 runs. Sri Lanka's strong performance was highlighted by a brilliant century from opener Pathum Nissanka and supported by Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis.

The match ended in less than 30 minutes on the fourth day as Jayasuriya claimed three of the last four wickets. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva praised the team's performance, particularly the bowlers and batters in the first innings. Nissanka, named player of the match and series, received high praise for his consistent performances across formats.
