Election Commission Invites Rahul Gandhi to Discuss Allegations of Poll Rigging in Maharashtra Elections
The Election Commission of India has invited Rahul Gandhi to meet and discuss his concerns about the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. The EC maintains that all polls are conducted in accordance with electoral laws. The Congress is expected to respond to the invitation soon.

Following his recent allegations regarding the conduct of the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to discuss any issues. The Congress will respond to the letter soon.
Citing Gandhi's opinion piece in The Indian Express on June 7, where he raised concerns about electoral rolls and voter turnout data, the EC wrote to him on June 12. The EC stated that all elections are conducted as per electoral laws and procedures.
The EC highlighted the decentralized conduct of elections at the Assembly constituency level in Maharashtra. It mentioned the appointment of various officers and observers for the polls. The EC invited Gandhi to raise any remaining issues and offered to meet him in person.
In his opinion piece, Gandhi reiterated allegations of 'bogus' voters and 'match-fixing' in the 2024 Maharashtra elections. Congress leader Praveen Chakravarty confirmed that the party will respond to the EC's letter soon.
The EAGLE, an eight-member committee formed by the Congress to monitor election conduct, will review the letter and respond within a day or two. The EAGLE reports to Rahul Gandhi.
