Cork Family Gears Up for Charity Trek in Memory of Beloved Ray
The Seaman family from Cork is preparing to participate in the 'Make Your Mark On Cancer' charity trek to support the Mercy Cancer Appeal. The event, in memory of Ray Seaman who passed away from bile duct cancer, brings together family members and community for a day of remembrance and solidarity.

Hundreds of walkers are set to take to the roads of Cork next month for the ‘Make Your Mark On Cancer’ charity trek. This 22km journey from Chetwynd Viaduct to the Town Hall in Bandon is in support of the Mercy Cancer Appeal.
Among those stepping out on Sunday, July 13, will be the Seaman family, who participate in memory of Ray Seaman, who passed away from bile duct cancer in 2012. Ray, a father of four, was a Bandon man through and through. He received fantastic care at the Mercy Hospital, where he spent his final months.
The Seamans come together each year to participate in the trek as a way of giving back to the hospital. The event, now in its 12th year, honors the memory of Mark Prendergast and has raised over €566,528 to support cancer services at Mercy Hospital.
It is a family affair for the Seamans, who gather to celebrate Ray’s life and support the hospital. The event is a day filled with hope, remembrance, and solidarity, bringing the community together for a great cause.
