Airbnb Holiday Home Trashed by 200-Person Gender Reveal Party

An Airbnb home in Norden, Greater Manchester, was trashed during a gender reveal party that spiraled into a drunken rampage involving around 200 people. The incident led to police intervention as riot vans were called to the scene.

The property, a 10-bed home worth £635,000, was booked for the event, with attendees coming from as far as London. The chaos caused significant damage amounting to £2,000, including broken furniture and smashed lamps.

The property owner, Matt Genesis, was unaware of the scale of the gathering, as the booking was made for only eight people through Instagram. Security cameras at the rental property were disabled, hindering early intervention.

The aftermath of the party, likened to the movie 'Project X,' required three staff members 12 hours to clean up. The embarrassed owners had to apologize to neighbors and cancel subsequent bookings.
