What other events are on?
There are so many events happening across the city this weekend, but a great way to start the day is with Belong To's Pride Breakfast Experience, which will take place ahead of the parade, and is predicted to host up to 600 young people from across Ireland for a slap-up meal at the Civic Offices on Wood Quay. Then, following the parade, there will be a party in the 'Pride Village' in Merrion Square. Hosted by Phil T. Gorgeous and Paul Ryder, there will be live performances from Dame Stuffy, Davina Devine, Dublin Gay Men's Choir, Blu Hydrangea, The Wild Geeze, DJ Ruth, and more. There will be refreshments, live music, installations, community tents and more, but it should be noted that alcohol is not permitted within the festival site.
What is the theme of this year's Pride parade?
2025 marks 10 years since the marriage equality referendum, the Gender Recognition Act, and the Children and Family Relationships Act. As well as celebrating this milestone anniversary year, Dublin Pride hopes to shine a light on the hard work that goes into fighting for liberties - and keeping them. As the website states, \"Long before we were called Pride, we were called Liberation Day. The first Dublin Pride march in 1974 was organised by the Sexual Liberation Movement. We even start our march on the street named after 'The Liberator', Daniel O'Connell, whose 250th birthday falls this summer.\" This year, all are welcome to march in solidarity with the global LGBTQ+ family and send a clear message to the world: \"The liberties we have taken will not be taken back\".
