Tour de France 2025: Latest Standings and Updates
Mathieu van der Poel leads the GC standings at the 2025 Tour de France after stage 2, with Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard close behind. Find out who's in the top positions and what to expect in the upcoming stages.

A series of short, sharp climbs brought the GC contenders out to play on stage 2 of the 2025 Tour de France, but it was Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) who came away with the stage victory and the maillot jaune in Boulogne-sur-Mer on Sunday.
Van der Poel had to fight off a late challenge by World Champion Tadej Pogačar (UAE Emirates XRG), who finished second ahead of GC rival Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike).
Since stage 1 winner Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) lost contact on the climbs, Van der Poel moved into the race lead with his time bonus for the stage victory.
He leads Pogačar by four seconds and Vingegaard by six seconds.
In fourth is Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels) who tried to get away in the closing kilometres but was chased down. Vauquelin is 10 seconds back, tied in time with fifth-placed Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike) and sixth-placed Enric Mas (Movistar Team).
Philipsen did enough to remain in the top 10, dropping six places to seventh, but is now 31 seconds behind his teammate.
Joe Blackmore (Israel-Premier Tech) moved up to eighth place, 41 seconds down. On the same time are Tobias Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility) and Ben O'Connor (Jayco-AlUla), in ninth and 10th, respectively.
Philipsen will have another chance to add to his stage win tally on Monday, with an almost completely flat stage 3 from Valenciennes to Dunkerque posing little challenge in terms of elevation. But there may be another chance for crosswinds to shatter the peloton, too.

Tour de France 2025 classifications
Here's a rundown of all the ongoing competitions at the Tour de France.
Yellow Jersey/Maillot Jaune – The yellow jersey is worn by the overall race leader on the general classification who has completed the stages so far in the lowest accumulated time.
Green Jersey – The green jersey is the points classification. Riders accrue points at one of the two intermediate sprints during stages and also at stage finishes, and the man with the most points leads the ranking.
Polka Dot Jersey – The red and white polka dot jersey is the mountain classification. Points are handed out to the first riders over certain hills and climbs during the Tour de France, with the hardest mountains giving the most points. Once again, the man with the most points leads the ranking.
White jersey – The white jersey is the best young rider classification. It works the same way as the yellow jersey, but only riders aged 25 or under are eligible to win.
