Tamil Actor Krishna Arrested in Chennai Drug Case

Tamil actor Krishna and his associate were arrested by the Nungambakkam Police of the Greater Chennai Police (GCP) on Thursday (June 26, 2025) in connection with a drug case. The arrest followed the seizure of narcotics from the associate and the discovery of WhatsApp chats between them and others, indicating their involvement.

Krishna is the second actor to be arrested in the case, after actor Srikanth, alias Sridhar Krishnamachari, was arrested earlier.

Case Background:

The investigation began after a clash at a bar in Nungambakkam last month. Eight persons, including Prasad, were arrested in connection with the incident. It was revealed that Prasad had links to a drug cartel involving Prado and his associates, including John.

Prasad had been obtaining cocaine from the group for three years and selling it to his friends, including actor Srikanth. Financial transactions and electronic evidence were also uncovered. Srikanth was arrested earlier.

Actor Krishna’s Involvement:

Actor Krishna was arrested for procuring and using drugs, and sharing them with friends. His associate Kevin was also arrested for similar charges. Drugs and related items were seized from Kevin.

Krishna was found to have received drugs from Kevin, consumed them, and shared them with friends. He was part of WhatsApp groups discussing drug-related matters. The arrests were made based on bank transactions, seized drugs, and scientific evidence.

Krishna’s Career:

Krishna has acted in several films including Kazhugu, Vanmam, Yatchan, Yaakkai, Pandigai, Nibunan, and Vizhithiru.

Legal Implications:

Trafficking, possession, and sale of drugs are punishable offences. Failure to report knowledge of drug possession is also an offence.

Investigation Status:

The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected. So far, 24 persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
