Father's Anguish: Son Critically Injured in Crash by Repeat Impaired Driver Out on Bail

A father from Bolton, Ont., expressed anger and disappointment after his son was critically injured in a Brampton crash caused by a five-time repeat impaired driver who was released on bail. Riz Arshad, father of Gabriel Arshad, 21, urged people to contact their MPs for bail reform. The accused, a 58-year-old man from Mississauga, had five previous impaired driving convictions and was on three lifetime driving bans. Gabriel, who sustained life-altering injuries in the crash, remains in a coma at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
