The Philippines, with over 2 million Filipino migrants in the Middle East, welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran. The Department of Foreign Affairs called for continued dialogue to permanently end the armed conflict between the two countries. The DFA expressed hope that the temporary ceasefire would lead to lasting peace in the region and urged all parties to engage in negotiations for a permanent solution.

The US-brokered ceasefire began on Monday after days of missile strikes between Israel and Iran, affecting over 31,000 Filipinos in the region. There are approximately 30,000 Filipino caregivers in Israel and over 1,100 in Iran. The Philippines, a top labor-exporting nation, has about 10 million workers abroad, facing risks like civil strife, armed conflict, abuses, and unfair labor practices. Remittances from Filipino migrant workers contribute significantly to the country's foreign exchange, totaling over $35 billion annually.

Israel initiated attacks on Iran on June 13, alleging Iran's nuclear weapons development. Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes, denying the accusation and claiming a peaceful nuclear program. President Donald Trump announced the US's destruction of Iran's key nuclear facilities—Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow—calling it a military success.

The Philippine government issued crisis alert level 3 in Israel and Iran, advising Filipinos to consider voluntary repatriation.
