EA Shuts Down Madden NFL 21 Today Along with 13 Other Games

EA has announced plans to shutdown 14 games this year. Madden NFL 21 is the latest game to be shut down, with its online multiplayer features becoming inaccessible on June 30. This closure means that certain in-game achievements and trophies will no longer be attainable, such as Head-to-Head and Bragging Rights.

Players who have not completed the game by June 30 will miss out on achieving 100% completion. While Madden NFL 21 may not have been the most popular title, players still progressing in the game will need to switch to a newer option. However, it's worth noting that Madden NFL 22 is also set to be shut down by EA in October 2025.

Other games that have been shut down this year include Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, and UFC 3. The closures have either made these games completely inaccessible or have disabled their online multiplayer features. Madden NFL 22 is also scheduled to have its online features blocked later this year.

Fortunately, a new Madden NFL game is set to be released this summer, following the releases in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
