Bose SoundLink Plus Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review: Pros and Cons

I have been testing the Bose SoundLink Plus, a portable Bluetooth speaker priced at $269. It is durable, attractive, and designed for easy transport with solid construction and an IP67 rating. The speaker falls in a mid-range price category compared to its competitors.

The SoundLink Plus is a mono speaker with a tweeter, passive radiators, and a subwoofer. It can be linked with another Plus for stereo sound or connected with other Bose Bluetooth speakers for Party Mode. The speaker delivers clear vocals and good bass, although it may struggle at high volumes.

The speaker is compact, loud, and offers a good amount of low-end thump. It has a silicone coating and steel grille, available in different finishes. The touch controls are limited, but the speaker is easy to clean and has an IP67 rating for water resistance.

It lacks some connectivity options like Wi-Fi and AirPlay but supports multipoint connection and can also be used as a power bank. The battery life is rated for up to 20 hours of playback time. Charging the speaker takes five hours.
