Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya criticized singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh for working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his latest film Sardaar Ji 3. Abhijeet used an old video clip from one of Diljit's concerts to slam him amid the controversy surrounding the film.
During his Dil-Luminati Tour, Diljit recited a poem by late lyricist Rahat Indori, which Abhijeet referenced in his criticism. Abhijeet shared a video montage on Instagram, emphasizing that India belongs to the ancestors of Indians.
Despite protests from groups like Bajrang Dal, Diljit dedicated a concert to Rahat Indori and defended his actions by invoking a ghazal about the unity of India.
Sardaar Ji 3 faced backlash for featuring Hania Aamir, leading to calls for a ban on Diljit and his projects in India. The film premiered overseas but will not be released in Indian theaters.
