Yashasvi Jaiswal Criticized for Dancing in Front of English Fans After Dropping 4 Catches
Yashasvi Jaiswal faced backlash for dancing in front of English fans after a challenging Test match where he dropped four catches. Despite scoring a century, his fielding errors drew criticism from fans and led to social media outrage.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a mixed outing in his first Test on English soil that saw him drop as many as four catches after scoring a century. Jaiswal scored 101 off 159 after India were put in to bat first in the first Test at Headingley that concluded with their five-wicket defeat to England on Tuesday. While India’s batting collapses and listless bowling took the brunt of criticism, their fielding also came under severe scrutiny.
Through the course of the five days, India dropped as many as eight catches that allowed England to limit the first innings deficit to just six runs. Four of these catches were dropped by Jaiswal who had a nightmare on the field. Fans were upset with Jaiswal after he was seen dancing for the English crowd even as India were heading towards a record defeat on Day 5.
India endured a second lower-order batting collapse in the series opener which meant England were left chasing 371, a target they achieved to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. India became the first team in Test history to lose a match despite hitting five centuries. The tourists now have a week to recover from the loss and plot their comeback at Edgbaston – the venue of the second Test.
