PNP Chief Torre Pays Respects at Wake of Fallen Cop in QC Shooting Incident
Philippine National Police Chief Nicolas Torre III visited the wake of Patrolman Harwin Curtney Baggay, who lost his life in an armed confrontation with a robber near Benigno Aquino Elementary School. Torre met with the officer's family at Camp Caringal Chapel.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Nicolas Torre III visited the wake of Patrolman Harwin Curtney Baggay who died in an armed encounter with a robber on Monday. Torre personally went to Camp Caringal Chapel and met the fallen cop’s family.
Baggay and another police officer stationed in front of Benigno Aquino Elementary School responded to successive gunshots 25 meters away, discovering a robbery in progress. Victims sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Rosario Maclang Hospital for treatment.
Baggay was shot by the suspect but managed to retaliate before succumbing to his injuries. The fallen officer was mourned by the Quezon City Police District and National Capital Region Police Office. Assistance will be provided to his family by the police.
