China Launches First International Deep-Space Exploration Association

China will officially launch the International Deep Space Exploration Association (IDSEA) in Hefei, Anhui province next Monday. The association aims to empower developing countries in deep-space technologies. It will focus on deep-space study, including probes into the moon, planets, and asteroids, and promote international cooperation.

The IDSEA will benefit developing countries by initiating programs on CubeSat design and scientist training. Wang Zhongmin, director of the lab's international cooperation center, emphasized the importance of making deep-space technologies accessible to all countries to benefit humanity.

China, despite being a latecomer, has become a prominent player in outer space exploration. It has authorized institutions from six countries to borrow lunar samples and invited global partners to join its Mars missions. The Tianwen-3 Mars sample-return mission, planned for around 2028, aims to search for signs of life on Mars.
