Governors Call for FIR Against Chief Minister in Swat Tragedy

There has been a one-party rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the past 13 years, but the province faces administrative incompetence.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi called for the resignation of the Chief Minister of KP and the registration of an FIR against him for the Swat tragedy. They made these statements while speaking to the media in Daska (Sialkot) on Monday.
Both governors met with families of Swat tragedy victims, offering prayers for the departed souls. Sardar Saleem Haider highlighted the lack of timely action during the flood, resulting in tragic drownings. He criticized the ineffective response of Rescue 1122 and the administration, noting the dysfunctionality of the administrative machinery in KP.
Kundi visited Daska to apologize to the bereaved family on behalf of the people of KP and called for an FIR against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. A delegation of Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf, led by party secretary general Salman Akram Raja, also offered condolences in Daska.
Other political figures, including Jamaat-i-Islami emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and federal minister for defence Khwaja Asif, visited the grieved families to express their condolences.
