Inflation Rate Slows to 3.2% in June 2025 in Pakistan
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Pakistan showed a decrease in headline inflation to 3.2% in June 2025 from 3.5% in May 2025. The CPI-based inflation in June 2025 was lower compared to the same month in April 2024, which was at 12.6%.
The headline inflation, measured by Consumer Price Index (CPI), decelerated to 3.2% in June 2025 from 3.5% in May 2025, as per the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Compared to April 2024, the CPI-based inflation was at 12.6% in June 2025.
In June 2025, the month-on-month CPI increased by 0.2%, contrasting with a decrease of 0.2% in the previous month and an increase of 0.5% in June 2024.
Urban CPI inflation dropped to 3.0% year-on-year in June 2025 from 3.5% in the previous month and 14.9% in June 2024. On a month-on-month basis, it remained stable at 0.1% in June 2025.
Rural CPI inflation rose by 3.6% year-on-year in June 2025, compared to 3.4% in the previous month and 9.3% in June 2024. On a month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.5%.
The Sensitive Price Indicator inflation decreased by 1.9% year-on-year in June 2025, with no change on a month-on-month basis.
Wholesale Price Index inflation increased by 0.6% year-on-year in June 2025. On a month-on-month basis, it also rose by 0.6%.
Core inflation, measured by non-food non-energy urban, decreased to 6.9% year-on-year in June 2025. On a month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.2%.
Core inflation, measured by non-food non-energy rural, decreased to 8.6% year-on-year in June 2025. On a month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.7%.
