Galaxia Launches MÖBIUS-1, a Revolutionary Virtual Satellite for Canadian Space Exploration

Galaxia is excited to announce the launch of MÖBIUS-1 on June 23, 2025. This marks a significant moment for satellite development and the Canadian space industry. MÖBIUS-1 was sent into orbit by a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket as part of the Transporter 14 mission.

MÖBIUS ™'s platform, as a software-defined satellite (SDS), sets it apart from traditional hardware. It is the first virtual satellite as a service platform ever launched. This platform allows clients to adjust their observation goals and receive real-time data. Galaxia's Space Command and Control Team is currently tracking and communicating with the spacecraft during the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) to ensure it is in a stable orbit and ready for operation.

This launch represents Galaxia's first dedicated deployment of its proprietary software-defined satellite architecture. MÖBIUS-1 is not only the first commercial satellite built and launched in Atlantic Canada but also a step towards a fully virtualized satellite system, similar to cloud computers on Earth. It supports MissionOne, Galaxia's turnkey space service, allowing clients to deploy, update, and operate custom applications from Earth using cloud-like infrastructure. From AI model execution to edge-based data analysis, MÖBIUS-1 provides advanced space capabilities without clients needing to build, launch, or manage their own satellites, reducing barriers and accelerating time to orbit.
