Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy surrounding his film 'Sardaar Ji 3' due to the inclusion of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Dosanjh mentioned that the film was shot in February before recent events between India and Pakistan.
He expressed support for the decision to release the film overseas, citing circumstances beyond their control. Dosanjh stated, 'When the film was made, everything was fine. The producers have invested significantly, and now the situation is different.'
Following the Pahalgam attack on April 22, film associations prohibited collaborations with Pakistani artists. Despite this, the trailer for 'Sardaar Ji 3' featuring Hania Aamir was released on June 23, sparking criticism.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) called for a ban on Dosanjh, the producers, and director, urging the government to take action. The film is set to premiere overseas on June 27.
