Daniel Wiffen will plan his journey to the Los Angeles Olympics from his home base after graduating from Loughborough University. The two-time Paris Games medalist trained at the English college but is now returning home after completing his academic duties. Currently, Wiffen is focused on the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore from July 11 to August 3. At the last championships, he won double gold in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events.
Wiffen is determined to win gold again at the upcoming championships. He has been working on sports analytics with sponsors Deloitte to enhance his performance. Analyzing his previous races, he aims to improve and prepare for the LA Games in three years. Despite winning gold in Paris, he sees room for growth and is excited about the future challenges.
After a brief post-Paris slump, Wiffen regained his competitive spirit, driven by his rivalry with twin brother Nathan. He is motivated to excel at the upcoming Worlds and aims to break personal records and possibly set a new world record. Following the championships, Wiffen will return to Ireland to continue training and prepare for the 2028 America Games.
