Carrie Johnson, wife of former prime minister Boris Johnson, shared that she was hospitalized due to severe dehydration. She advised breastfeeding mothers to stay hydrated in hot weather. Carrie posted a photo with her newborn daughter Poppy Eliza Josephine from the hospital bed, mentioning her unexpected hospitalization for dehydration. She encouraged breastfeeding moms to eat and drink enough, especially during clusterfeeding.

Poppy is the fourth child of the couple, born on 21 May. Carrie also mentioned facing mastitis, reflux, and dehydration in a challenging week. She expressed gratitude for the support and advice received, particularly regarding reflux, and thanked the NHS for their care.

The NHS recommends breastfeeding mothers to drink plenty of fluids, avoid caffeine and alcohol, and have water, low-fat milk, and low-sugar drinks while feeding. The UK Health Security Agency issued an amber heat health alert for the upcoming days, with temperatures possibly reaching 34C. There is a chance of breaking the record for the hottest June day on record of 35.6C from 1976.
