161 Raids Conducted on Drug Dealers' Hideouts in Punjab in 24 Hours
A total of 161 raids were carried out on drug dealers' hideouts in Punjab, including Lahore, within a span of 24 hours as part of the Drug-Free Punjab initiative. 83 drug dealers were apprehended, and significant quantities of drugs and liquor were seized. The Punjab Police spokesperson highlighted the ongoing efforts, with over 39,000 raids conducted this year resulting in the arrest of 21,740 drug dealers and the recovery of substantial amounts of illegal substances. The Inspector General of Punjab has emphasized the need for continued special operations against drug dealers and smugglers, particularly targeting those operating near educational institutions and hostels.

As part of the Drug-Free Punjab vision, 161 raids were conducted on drug dealers' hideouts across the province, including Lahore, within 24 hours. A total of 83 drug dealers were arrested, and cases were registered. The Punjab Police spokesperson reported the recovery of 26 kilograms of chras and 997 liters of liquor from the arrested drug dealers. In the current year, 39,457 raids were carried out on drug dealers' hideouts, resulting in the arrest of 21,740 drug dealers. The recovered items included 11,344 kilograms of charas, 294 kilograms of opium, 630 kilograms of ice (methamphetamine), and over 288,000 liters of liquor.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed for special operations against drug dealers and smugglers to continue. He directed officers to ensure that all individuals involved in the drug supply chain face justice and strict punishments. Additionally, he emphasized intensified operations against those engaged in drug peddling near educational institutions and hostels.
