150-Million-Year-Old Dinosaur Skeleton Unveiled at Natural History Museum in London

A new dinosaur species has been discovered by scientists, and it’s now going on display at the Natural History Museum in London, UK. Reportedly, the skeleton of this dinosaur is 150 million years old and just 500 cm tall, much smaller than the giant dinosaurs we have seen in the movies.

Fans of Jurassic Park or anyone obsessed with dinosaurs might find this news super exciting. As per a report in Time Out, a 150-million-year-old dinosaur skeleton has been discovered! And not just that, it’s a completely different species altogether. The Natural History Museum confirmed the news by sharing the image of the dinosaur named Enigmacursor mollyborthwickae.

Named Enigmacursor mollyborthwickae, this dinosaur died 150 million years ago and was a two-legged herbivore that roamed the wetlands in the US during the late Jurassic period. The dinosaur is just 500 cm tall. The name 'Enigma' was chosen due to the mystery surrounding this fossil for many years, and 'Cursor' was added because this tiny dinosaur was likely quite speedy and a herbivore.

According to Professor Susannah Maidment, this rare specimen is of serious scientific importance and helps in understanding the evolution of these creatures. The actual prehistoric fossil is now on permanent display at the Natural History Museum in London for everyone to see.
