Singapore Introduces Free Online Tool for Healthy Adults to Plan End-of-Life Care
Singapore has launched myACP, an online advance care planning tool, allowing healthy adults to document their care preferences without the need for in-person facilitation. Users aged 21 and above can specify medical treatment approaches, daily care needs, and personal preferences. The tool also allows for the appointment of healthcare spokespersons. The initiative aims to normalize discussions about future care needs and increase awareness of legacy planning.

Adults with no existing serious illnesses in Singapore can now document their end-of-care life preferences online for free through the advance care planning (ACP) tool called myACP. This tool, launched by Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung, aims to make advance care planning more accessible to Singaporeans. Users aged 21 and above can use the online tool to document their care preferences, appoint healthcare spokespersons, and indicate priorities between comfort care and life-sustaining treatments.
For individuals with no serious illnesses, myACP is available for online use. Those with serious illnesses will undergo facilitated advance care planning sessions tailored to their medical condition. The Ministry of Health reported a significant increase in completed advance care plans, indicating a growing awareness of legacy planning. The Legacy Planning Roadshow, part of a campaign to encourage legacy planning, provides information on ACP, Lasting Power of Attorney, CPF nomination, and wills to the public.
