A new picture of Prince George has been shared as the Royal Family marks his 12th birthday. The photo, showing George smiling while leaning on a wooden gate, was taken by photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year in Norfolk. The Royal Family's official account reposted the image with a caption saying: 'Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince George!'
The Prince and Princess of Wales often share photographs of their children with their followers - many of them taken by keen amateur photographer Kate - to mark special occasions such as birthdays. Earlier this year, the royals shared a photo of Princess Charlotte that Kate took on an iPhone during a visit to Cumbria for her 10th birthday. The royals also released a photo - also taken by Mr Shinner - for Prince Louis's seventh birthday.
Prince George Alexander Louis was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, at 4.24pm on 22 July 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz. He made his first appearance in front of the world's media the following day, wrapped in a white merino wool shawl, cradled in Kate's arms. George was last seen at Wimbledon, and watched on with William and Charlotte as Kate presented the Wimbledon men's trophy to Jannik Sinner.
