The scene of a fatal crash involving the wife of Lufthansa's CEO driving into a pedestrian has been captured in pictures. Vivian Alexandra Spohr, a 51-year-old top manager and wife of Carsten Spohr, was driving an SUV when it collided with Gaia Costa, 24, at a zebra crossing in Porto Cervo, Sardinia. Ms Costa, a babysitter, sustained serious head injuries and died at the scene despite receiving first aid from Spohr. Spohr's lawyer clarified that she stopped after the accident and attempted to help before losing consciousness.

Witnesses described Spohr colliding with Ms Costa at a low speed and reacting with shock and distress. Spohr, who was on holiday at the time, has returned to Munich and is cooperating with authorities. She is under investigation for negligent homicide in road traffic, although alcohol and drug tests were negative. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
