Iloilo PESO Monitors 73 Ilonggo OFWs Amid Israel-Iran Conflict
The Iloilo Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is keeping track of 73 Ilonggo overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Israel and nearby countries during the ongoing Israel-Iran crisis. PESO is in contact with the OFWs and their families to ensure their safety and well-being.

The Iloilo Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is monitoring the status of 73 Ilonggos who work in Israel and neighboring countries amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict. PESO manager Cynthia Dario stated that they have profiled 66 Ilonggos from Israel and one component city. Six were reported unsafe, 38 safe, and the rest silent on their status. Dario mentioned that repatriation is voluntary at Alert Level 3, but no Ilonggos have signified to go home yet. PESO continues to coordinate with relevant government agencies.
Outside Israel, PESO has profiled OFWs in Kuwait, Qatar, and Iraq. Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. instructed concerned offices to monitor and coordinate with grassroots levels. He urged affected OFWs to stay calm, contact migrant welfare offices, and register for repatriation. PESO provided financial assistance to 19 repatriated Ilonggos on Monday, part of the province's program since 2021 for OFWs returning from the Middle East, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
