Westwood Qualifies for The Open, Poulter and G-Mac Miss Out

Lee Westwood secured his spot in The British Open after winning his qualifier in Scotland, ending his two-year absence from the event. Meanwhile, Ian Poulter, his son Luke, and Graeme McDowell fell short in their bids to qualify for the major tournament later this month.

Westwood, 52, finished on top at Dundonald Links with a score of seven under for 36 holes. Despite jet lag from his recent competition in Dallas, he expressed his excitement for the upcoming championship at Royal Portrush.

Poulter and his son Luke both finished at one under, just missing out on qualification. LIV golfer Dean Burmester led the leaderboard at Royal Cinque Ports with a remarkable eight-under second-round score.

Other qualifiers included amateur Connor Graham, Lucas Herbert, and Harry Hall, among others, who secured their spots in The Open after successful rounds at various qualifying events.
