Theresa Tam and Bonnie Henry Honored with Order of Canada

Doctors Theresa Tam and Bonnie Henry, leaders in Canada’s COVID-19 pandemic response, have been appointed as officers of the Order of Canada. Dr. Tam served as Canada’s chief public health officer, while Dr. Henry is the British Columbia Provincial Health Officer.

Eighty-three individuals, including Marc-André Blanchard, were appointed to the Order. Mr. Blanchard, a former Canadian ambassador, was recognized for his contributions to Canada's economic development.

Dr. Tam was honored for her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, while Dr. Henry was praised for her expertise in public health. Other appointees include David Jones, who established Canada’s public health agency, and former federal cabinet minister John Manley.
