Pia Cayetano, Lacson, and Villar Sworn in as Senators
Senators Pia Cayetano, Panfilo Lacson, and Camille Villar took their oaths as members of the 20th Congress. Cayetano and Lacson were sworn in before Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, while Villar took her oath in Las Piñas. The senators will serve a six-year term starting on June 30.

Senator Pia Cayetano and two other senators elected in the May 2025 elections — Panfilo Lacson and Camille Villar — on Thursday took their oath as members of the 20th Congress. Cayetano and Lacson took their oath before Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo at the new Taguig City Hall and Supreme Court premises, respectively. Villar took her oath in their family home in Las Piñas before her mother and outgoing senator, Cynthia Villar.
Cayetano was joined by her children, sister-in-law Mayor Lani Cayetano, brother Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Senate President Francis Chiz Escudero, among others. Villar's husband, Erwin Genuino, and their children, Tristan and Cara, were present during the oath-taking.
Lacson finished seventh in the 2025 Senate race with around 15 million votes, while Cayetano settled for ninth place with over 14.5 million votes. Villar landed in 10th place with over 13.5 million votes. Their six-year Senate term will start at noon on June 30. Cayeteno’s brother, Alan, and Villar’s brother Mark are also incumbent senators.
