Broadcaster Joe Duffy has revealed his first post-RTÉ gig: the face of Lidl's latest ad campaign. In a humorous new ad, Duffy plays the part of a detective uncovering suspiciously low prices at Lidl. The series, titled ‘Value Beyond Belief’, shows Duffy entering the supermarket in a trilby hat, questioning the unbelievable value offered by the Lidl Plus app. The ad marks the launch of the app, providing shoppers with extra discounts.
This is not Duffy's first acting experience. He previously appeared in a panto and went 'undercover' on his radio show to expose con artists. After retiring from his popular radio show, there were speculations about his potential presidential candidacy, but he has ruled himself out of seeking a nomination.
In a statement, Lidl expressed excitement about partnering with Duffy for the ad campaign, hoping that shoppers will enjoy the series.
