Iran Ready to Observe Ceasefire if Israel Complies, States President Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran is willing to honor the U.S.-brokered ceasefire in the ongoing conflict, but only if Israel also fully abides by its terms.

President Pezeshkian made the statement during a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, emphasizing that Iran will not violate the truce unless provoked by Israeli aggression.

A statement on the official presidential website confirmed that the two leaders discussed the regional situation and the ceasefire. President Pezeshkian noted that if Israel respects the agreement, Iran will also refrain from further military action.

Despite the ceasefire, Iran’s military remains on high alert. The Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) stated that Iranian armed forces are fully prepared to respond decisively to any threats or violations by Israel or its allies.

The SNSC highlighted the unity of the Iranian people and the resilience of the armed forces during the 12-day strategic war. Their response to Israeli aggression, including retaliatory missile strikes like the one on the U.S. Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, was carried out under the guidance of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The council reassured the Iranian nation that its forces are ready to respond to any future hostility with firm force, trusting no verbal commitments from the enemy and keeping fingers on the trigger.
