How Brentford Convinced Manchester United to Bid £60m for Bryan Mbeumo with Matheus Cunha's Help
Manchester United's pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford is progressing with a bid of over £60m. The negotiation was influenced by Brentford leveraging United's previous transfer dealings. Matheus Cunha's successful signing also played a role in convincing United to make a substantial offer for Mbeumo.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo is nearing its conclusion after weeks of negotiation with Brentford. In June, Manchester United signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and then submitted a bid for Mbeumo the following week. United's initial bid was rejected, but after ongoing talks, they have now offered more than £60m for Mbeumo, with a significant upfront payment. Brentford used United's transfer business to convince Ineos to raise the offer.
United aimed to add goals by signing Cunha and Mbeumo, who scored a combined 35 goals last season. Brentford compared Mbeumo with Cunha during negotiations, highlighting Mbeumo's Premier League experience and goal-scoring record. With a deal close to £60m, United's front line is set to become one of the deadliest in the league.
Mbeumo is expected to play in the right-sided number 10 role at United, alongside Cunha. He is also seen as versatile and capable of occasionally playing as a striker. While there are doubts about his suitability for the lone striker role, his partnership with Cunha is expected to be exciting for fans.
