First Group of Filipino Workers from Middle East Arrive Home

Thirty-one overseas Filipino workers from the Middle East arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City on Tuesday night (June 24, 2025), led by Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac. They included 26 OFWs from Israel, three from Jordan, one from Palestine, and one from Qatar, repatriated amid the Israel-Iran conflict.

The first batch of OFWs repatriated from the Middle East arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday night. Thirty-one repatriates arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 via Qatar Airways flight QR 934 from Amman, Jordan. They were delayed due to the temporary closure of Qatar's airspace following Iran’s missile strike on a US air base in Doha.

The second batch of 50 OFWs is expected later this week, with 20 currently being processed. Each repatriate received PHP150,000 in financial support and immediate airport assistance. Various government agencies provided medical, psychological, and reintegration services to the repatriates.

The repatriation efforts were in compliance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure OFWs' safety during crisis situations. The repatriates were assisted in establishing livelihood ventures or finding employment opportunities, with support from different government departments.

Out of over 30,000 OFWs in Israel, 311 have requested repatriation. The government agencies are ready to assist those willing to return home. The emotional impact on the families of the repatriated OFWs was highlighted as a significant aspect of the repatriation process.
