Treaty United Goalkeeper Michael Dike Joins Brighton

Republic of Ireland Under-19 goalkeeper Michael Dike has joined Brighton and Hove from Treaty United in the SSE Airtricity Men's First Division. The 18-year-old signed with the Premier League club this week and will join their Under-21s squad.

Dike visited Brighton on trial and was offered a contract. He expressed his excitement, saying, \"I have been there a few times on trials and stuff like that and I enjoyed it and got offered a contract so I'm really happy. It's everything I have ever dream of, really exciting a new chapter.\"

Having made his senior debut for Treaty United at 17, Dike reflected on his journey, stating, \"The club has given me a good pathway I started with the academy and then had a little breakout year last year and made a couple of games.\"

In the 2024 season, Dike made ten appearances for United and received his first call-up to the Irish Under-19s in March. His standout moment was saving two penalties at the age of 17 to help Treaty advance in the FAI Cup.

Previously playing with Caherdavin Celtic and Limerick FC, Dike's transition to goalkeeper came later, having initially played outfield.
