A Queensland zoo has confirmed it won't euthanise an animal after a woman lost her arm when she was grabbed by a big cat. The incident occurred at Darling Downs Zoo in Pilton, south of Toowoomba, around 8.23am. The woman in her 50s was attacked in an enclosure while watching keepers. The zoo, home to lions, cheetahs, and a tiger, will remain closed today and plans to reopen tomorrow. The animal involved will not be put down or punished, as confirmed by the zoo. Nationals leader David Littleproud expressed condolences and encouraged locals to support the zoo during this difficult time. The woman, a longtime member of the zoo family, had her arm severely injured but was saved by quick actions from an employee who applied a tourniquet.
