The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has criticized actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh and the makers of ‘Sardaarji 3’ for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. FWICE has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and government officials, demanding immediate action against the decision.
FWICE expressed deep anger over the casting of Hania Aamir in ‘Sardaarji 3’, calling it an affront to India's sovereignty. The federation claimed that Hania Aamir has spoken against India in the past and her inclusion in the film is insulting to every Indian.
The letter also accused the film’s makers of betraying the nation by casting Hania Aamir despite government guidelines. FWICE demanded the cancellation of passports of those involved and blocked the film's release in India.
FWICE called for a complete boycott of the film and urged the film industry to sever all ties with the individuals behind ‘Sardaarji 3’. Despite the controversy, Diljit Dosanjh shared the trailer of the film, announcing its release overseas on June 27.
‘Sardaarji 3’ is the third installment in the series, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, and Hania Aamir. The story follows ghost hunter Jaggi and his spirit friend Pinky investigating a haunted castle in the UK.
