Dell and TUS Partner for New Research Project in Sustainability and Healthcare

The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) has partnered with Dell Technologies to create a new AI platform for research in cybersecurity, sustainability, healthcare, and robotics.

TUS established the Software Research Institute (SRI) to build a leading national research lab focusing on innovation in cybersecurity, cloud-edge computing, robotic control, smart agriculture, and healthcare.

The AI platform, running on Dell PowerEdge XE9680 servers, will enable researchers to analyze large datasets in real-time and develop advanced AI models for their research.

It will also support research projects funded by Horizon Europe, the EU's main program for research and innovation.

One of these projects is ResilMesh, which aims to enhance cyber resilience in critical infrastructure and digital services against sophisticated threats and attacks.

Dr. Yuansong Qiao, senior research fellow at SRI, emphasized the importance of AI in advancing research in cybersecurity and robotics, especially for analyzing large datasets. He highlighted the necessity of having the right infrastructure to handle the demanding workloads of AI-driven research.
