Police have released CCTV footage following a 'suspicious' fire at a salon in Sydney's Inner West last month. Emergency services responded to a shop on Burwood Road in Burwood around 5am on June 13 to find the salon on fire. Residents in a unit block above the shop were evacuated while firefighters put out the blaze.
No injuries were reported, but the salon suffered damage. Police were called to the location twice more on July 2 and July 5 after reports of men trying to break in. CCTV footage of the men near the shop has been released for the investigation.
The first man is described as medium build, wearing an orange high-vis jumper and dark pants with high-vis stripes. He was seen shaking off flames from his pants as he fled. The second man, with a thin build, wore a dark hoodie with white stripes and black pants. Both men left the scene along Nicholl Lane after the fire.
