15 Police Officers Connected to Missing Cockfighting Enthusiasts Held by Philippine National Police
Fifteen police officers are now in custody as part of an investigation into the disappearance of sabungeros. The officers come from various police units, with some facing dismissal and others under scrutiny. More individuals may be implicated as the inquiry progresses.

Fifteen police officers are under investigation for their possible involvement in the case of missing cockfighting enthusiasts, or sabungeros, and are now in the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP), according to PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
Torre mentioned that the officers being investigated come from various police units, including support units, regional units, and the Area Police Command (APC). He noted that one officer is set for retirement, and three have been dismissed.
Torre stated that more policemen could be implicated as the investigation progresses and witness statements are collected. Whistleblower Julie Patidongan, also known as Totoy, is now under PNP custody and has applied for the Witness Protection Program. Patidongan had previously alleged that the missing sabungeros' remains were disposed of in Taal Lake.
Torre assured that the investigators will thoroughly pursue the case to deliver justice to the victims' families and to eliminate rogue policemen from the PNP.
