Chinese National Arrested in Cavite for Alleged Involvement in Illegal Drugs and Human Trafficking
A Chinese national, Jin Tian, 26, was arrested in General Trias City, Cavite by the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit (BIFSU) for his alleged connection to illegal drugs and human trafficking. During the operation, two women were rescued and two other male Chinese nationals were also apprehended. The suspects were found to be overstaying aliens and one was in possession of illegal substances.
A Chinese national, allegedly linked to illegal drugs and human trafficking, was arrested in Cavite by agents of the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit (BIFSU). BIFSU Chief Rendel Ryan Sy identified the suspect as Jin Tian, 26, who was arrested in General Trias City on July 15. During the operation, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine Navy, two women allegedly held against their will were rescued. Two other male Chinese nationals, Sun Yong, 36, and Liu Zhiwei, 33, were also arrested. Sun was found in possession of a substance believed to be shabu and drug paraphernalia. The three Chinese nationals were overstaying aliens without valid immigration documentation. Jin had two derogatory records for overstaying. Jin and Li were transferred to the BI warden facility in Taguig City, while Sun will remain in PDEA custody for illegal drugs prosecution. BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated, 'This operation reflects the government’s commitment to protecting communities from criminal activity by illegal aliens.'
